How can I search for a specific ticket?

After logging into the IT Helpdesk system at helpdesk.ok.ubc.ca with your Novell credentials, you have two options for searching for tickets and work orders - the Quick Search and the Advanced Search

You can browse through your open, completed and cancelled tickets by clicking the View My Tickets link.  Learn more by reading our How do I view my open, completed and cancelled tickets? article.

Instructions:

Option 1: Quick Search

Enter your Search term in the Search bar at the top right of the screen. 

The Quick Search searches the following fields:

  • Ticket Number
  • Ticket Status
  • Ticket Details
  • Ticket Contact (First and Last Name)
  • Ticket Notes
  • Work Order Number
  • Work Order Details
  • Work Order Notes (IT staff only)
  • Due date of Work Order (YYYY-MM-DD)

 

Option 2: Advanced Search

Click the Search link in the left-hand navigation to access the Advanced Search.

Enter one or more search options, including but not limited to:

  • Ticket Number
  • Contact
  • Location of Work
  • Request Type
  • Date Submitted
  • Work Order Number
  • Problem Type
  • Technician Assigned

Anytime you see a small icon, hover over it for some Quick Help!

Search Results

The Search Results page displays the original ticket details, and any relevant work orders associated with that ticket.

Click the Ticket No. to  jump to the Ticket Overview, or click the Details to view the ticket details in a pop-up box.

Sorting options are available at the top right of the Search Results tab.
